Not All "Hemp Oil" Products Are Created Equal...

As consumer, it is important to understand the key differences between hemp oil that is extracted from the stalk and/or flowers of the hemp plant, and oil that is extracted from hemp seeds. It’s easy to get confused by the various compounds that come from this amazing plant.

First of all, you should know what hemp is. Hemp contains no addictive properties and cannot get the consumer high or intoxicated. This is why hemp extracts are very versatile since they can be used for their health benefits without getting you high.

That being said, there are many products out there that contain hemp seed oil, which is very different from hemp oil extracted from the stalk.

What is hemp seed oil?

Hemp seed oil is extracted from the seeds of the hemp plant typically using a cold-press process. This type of oil can actually be extracted from all plants in the cannabis genus, but only industrial hemp is used in production. Industrial hemp is used primarily because they have been specifically bred for seed and stalk.

While hemp seeds and hemp seed oil are rich in nutrients and omega 3 fatty acids, they do not  support the human nervous system like the other parts of the plant.

What is hemp oil?

Rather than being made from the seeds of the plant, hemp oil is extracted from the stalks of the male hemp plant. Hemp oil contains powerful properties that support the human nervous system. Our nervous system helps regulate pain, mood, appetite, sleep patterns, and so much more (1). For this reason, hemp oil has become an extremely popular product in the health and nutritional products industries, as it can be helpful in treating certain conditions without having to worry about the psychoactive or intoxicating effects associated with using addictive substances.

The types of conditions that can be treated with hemp oil are many and varied, and we encourage you to do your own research on the fabulous properties of this amazing oil.
